| I hate it when
I get all happy about finishing a slew of big papers and tests...and
then I have another bunch of them like three days later. TOTALLY
LAME!!! I know, I know, it's what I get for being an English major.
At least I'm getting good at writing them. Last one I wrote for 458A, I
had the top score in class. Considering I saw it as a 'B' level paper,
and I never talk in class, it was a surprise. I hope the people who
don't doze off aren't bitter that I did a better job!
Hmm, what else? My cellphone broke, for no apparent reason. But it's
almost two years old, so I guess it was it's time. Mom already got a
replacement for me, she found some deal where if you buy one, you get
three for free. So new cellphones for everyone but Mom! Hers is the
newest of all of ours though, because she backed over it with her car
by accident some time ago. Hahah.
I'm also going home this weekend, in a pretty whirlwind trip. I work
until mid-afternoon Saturday, then I'm rushing up north to get to a
Coyotes game with Mom (we'll be late, but oh well!), and leaving early
Sunday morning so I can make it to young adult Bible study and church.
Due to all the papers, I haven't had the greatest attendance at church
in the last month. I am excited to be going home though, it's always
relaxing and I usually get my laundry done, haha! Maybe not this time,
but still.
I'll also get to see my memory quilt that Grandma S. made for me and
left with my parents. Back in senior year of high school, she made the
quilt blocks and I had all the people close to me write on
them...teachers, friends, family, etc. It's finally finished, and since
I don't even remember who wrote what, I will probably look at it for a
long time. My grandfather who passed away last December wrote one, and
I never saw what it said, so that is something I am definitely looking
forward to reading.
Anyway...time for class and then Leaky Bugle meeting. I made up some
pretty awesome questions for this week's quiz!!! (It's Disney Princess
themed, in honor of the band going to CA and the Happiest Place on
Earth). Zach totally suggested the question "How do you like it?". Yep,
we're going there...if Rees doesn't censor that question out! My fingers are crossed, because it's pretty funny:
-Fooling around in the water (Ariel)
-In the backseat of the pumpkin carriage (Cinderella)
-On a thick shag rug by the fire (Belle)
-S&M style...you have a temper! (Jasmine...apparently she's the feisty one?)
-One girl, seven dwarves: you do the math (Snow White)
-Lay still and play dead (Sleeping Beauty)

| A teenage girl about 17 had gone to visit some friends one evening and
time passed quickly as each shared their various experiences of the past
year.
She ended up staying longer than planned, and had to walk home alone.
She wasn't afraid because it was a small town and she lived only a few
blocks away.
As she walked along under the tall elm trees, she asked God to keep her safe from harm and danger.
When she reached the alley, which was a short cut to her house, she decided to take it.
However, halfway down the alley she noticed a man standing at the end as though he were waiting for her.
She became uneasy and began to pray, asking for God's protection.
Instantly a comforting feeling of quietness and security wrapped round her, she felt as though someone was walking with her.
When she reached the end of the alley, she walked right past the man and arrived home safely.
The following day, she read in the newspaper that a young girl had been
raped in the same alley just twenty minutes after she had been there.
Feeling overwhelmed by this tragedy and the fact that it could have been her, she began to weep.
Thanking the Lord for her safety, she decided to go to the police station to help the other girl.
She felt she could recognize the man, so she told them her story.
The police asked her if she would be willing to look at a lineup to see if she could identify him.
She agreed and immediately pointed out the man she had seen in the alley the night before.
When the man was told he had been identified, he immediately broke down and confessed.
The officer thanked her for her bravery and asked if there was anything they could do for her.
She asked if they would ask the man one question.
She was curious as to why he had not attacked her.
When the policeman asked him, he answered, "Because she wasn't alone. She had two tall men walking on either side of her."
Amazingly, whether you believe or not, you're never alone. Did you know that 98% of teenagers will not stand up for God?

| Went home
this weekend to see my family, and help out at my old high school's
marching invitational. Saw all these people I used to march with, as
well as lots of people I don't know. It was really fun though, all that
nostalgia and such.
Dad and I went out to Fry's and I bought my first alcohol from a store!
My power hour was also really fun, FRA made it sooo awesome for me. I
had a few glasses of water during the night, so no hangover at all! The
only downer was that TGIFriday's kept mixing up drinks. My friend Jen
got a Tennessee Iced Tea, but they brought her a strawberry something,
and Alicia ordered a Kamikaze for me and I never got it...there was a
Lemondrop put in front of me that had an unknown donor, so maybe it was
hers and the bartender was just retarded. Hmm. I still had fun, but
maybe that was the alcohol!!! I also said some pretty funny things
during the blow job shot, apparently!
Yay birthdays!
